Glasgow Community and Safety Services –

An event for Glasgow’s dog owners and their four-legged friends is gearing up once again to raise awareness among pet owners that they have a responsibility to clean up after their dogs.

The city’s second D in the Park is part of the award-winning Clean Glasgow campaign, and the event promises to provide entertainment and family fun while promoting responsible dog ownership and cracking down on dog fouling.

D in the Park will be held on Saturday 12th September, 2009, in James Lindsay Park, Ballieston, Glasgow from 12.00pm until 4.00pm. The range of fun activities on offer to members of the local community will include a dog display inviting pet owners to enter their dogs into categories such as the best large and small dog, best groomed dog, and dog with the waggiest tail – a fiercely contested category!

The event is being organised by Glasgow Community and Safety Services, which plays a lead role in the Clean Glasgow campaign, and includes an agility course, dancing dogs, and a dog sledge run. All those who attend will also be able to take advantage of an exclusive offer to have their dog micro-chipped by the SSPCA at a discounted rate of £10.
