In recent years community researchers have worked with a range of partner agencies to assess the impact of alcohol in glasgow's communities. Published as the Ripple Effect, this was commissioned by the Communities Sub Group of the Glasgow Drugs and Alcohol Partnership.
The research includes a focus on the Parkhead area.
To take forward the findings of the ripple effect, a community consultation event will take place at Parkhead Congregational Church, 77 Westmuir Street, on Thursday 25th November from 10.00am - 12.30pm. Lunch will be provided.
If you have an interest in how alcohol effects the Parkhead area please come along to the event. There is no charge to attend and refreshments will be available.

The Ripple Effect report is the first ever large scale community led investigation into how alcohol affects communities in Glasgow, with community researchers recruited across the city to carry out a survey of a total of 4697 people.
The research sought to examine through direct community consultation, whether citizens of Glasgow City felt alcohol affected their community, and if so, to identify and examine these effects. Like the ripple effect created by a pebble in a pond the 'ripple effect' of alcohol was found to go far beyond the individual and their immediate family.
The Executive Summary, Main Report and 16 Local Area Reports are available via the links below.
This report was commissioned by the 'GRAND (Getting Real about Alcohol N Drugs) Communities Sub-group', a partnership which includes Glasgow Community and Safety Services, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Glasgow Addiction Services and local alcohol and drug forums.
